English 9 - Students started class by creating a timeline of events in Romeo and Juliet. They then took a partner quiz on Act 3 after playing Kahoot to review Act 3 scenes 4 and 5 in Romeo and Juliet.
English 10 - Students took a quiz on chapters 14-17 today in class. After correcting the quiz, we reviewed symbolism and had a discussion on symbols in the Catcher in the Rye. Students were then introduced to Calligrams. Their homework is to create a Calligram. The requirements are the Calligram must be a symbol that relates to one or more thematic topics in the Catcher in the Rye. Students need to use a minimum of two passages from Catcher that support the thematic topic(s). The Calligram should fill up an 8.5 x 11 inch white piece of paper. The Calligrams do not need to be colored but their do need to have definition which can be achieved through shading. Here are a few examples:
