Period 1 and 2- With short periods today, we spent the period conducting some "housework." Students received a lot their work back today and I met with several students to discuss their grades and missing assignments. We also watched the end of Romeo and Juliet.
English 10
Period 4 - After reviewing some of the student work in this class it became apparent that we needed to devote some time to creativity. Students viewed a series of pictures and wrote a 140 character max response (twitter style) to the image. Some students told stories, others were very descriptive, and some were just downright wild. After viewing the pictures, students were assigned to write a story. The story must be between 500-700 words. The story can be about anything the student wants (school appropriate of course) but it must contain at least two of their "tweets" as part of the story. The tweet can appear in the story as a tweet, as a characters thought, as part of dialogue, or anything else you can come up with. This is not a homework assignment. We will finish the writing in class tomorrow. Here is the PowerPoint with the pictures and the directions of the story:
