English 9 - Students began class by looking at Baz Luhrman's interpretation of Romeo and Juliet's Prologue. Students then responded to questions 1-6 which can be found here.
We then spent the rest of the class period looking at the time period that lead up to the writing of Romeo and Juliet. Students took notes on an overview of the Renaissance, the invention of the printing press, the inclusion of linear perspective in art, and the revolutionary ideas of Copernicus. Homework is to synthesize the notes. The synthesis should be written in 150 words or more.

When students finished the quiz, they began annotating the article "Demise of an African Businessman." The article can be downloaded by clicking on the file below.
