Homework
English 9 - No homework.
English 10 - No assigned homework. If you did not turn in your quotes today, then you need to catch up this weekend.
Class Work
English 9 - We finished reading Act 4 of Romeo and Juliet in class today. Students then reflected on Juliet's outward appearance and her inner self. We expanded this idea to have students reflect on their own goals and their strengths and weaknesses (both real and incorrectly perceived). Students then used balloons to store their inner self and show their outward appearance. On Monday, students will take their balloons and be given the challenge to share their balloon with someone in their life.
English 10 - Students turned in their quotes for chapters 14-21 today. We then took a short quiz on chapters 18-21. We spent the rest of class reading and examining chapters 22 and 23 in The Catcher in the Rye. In chapter 22, students were asked to focus on Holden's story about James Castle and on what Holden told Phoebe he would like to be. In chapter 23 students should have focused on Phoebe's conversation with her mother and when Holden gives his red hunting hat to Phoebe.
